Overview
Located in the southwest foothills of Mt. Fuji, the highest mountain in Japan and a sacred symbol for Japanese people since ancient times, Fujinomiya city is a small town filled with nature, culture and friendly people.
In this private tour, you’ll explore the city and experience the life in the gateway city to Mt. Fuji.
Itinerary
Day 1
1 | Meet up with your guide and enjoy your private tour |

2 | Stopp by at a kimono store, change to kimono (Japanese traditional garment), then visit the shrine. |
3 | Lunch at the local restaurant which serves rainbow trout and local specialties |
4 | Visit the sake (Japanese rie wine) brewery established in 1820 and try some sake tasting |
5 | Visit Mt. Fuji World Heritage centre, Shizuoka and learn about Mt. Fuji |
6 | At 5:00 pm checking in at Urijima Onsen Suikouen Sakura, a RYOKAN (Japanese style hotel) founded in 1874 |
7 | Enjoy traditional Japanese course dinner made from local ingredients in a homey atmosphere, and relax in the hot spring waters. |
Day 2
1 | Stroll around the neighborhood and enjoy viewing terraced rice field landscapes, Nishiyama Honmon-ji Temple, Fujikawa River etc. |

2 | At 9 :00am, take off for Fujinomiya city tour |
3 | At 12:00, lunch at the restaurant with a view of Mt. Fuji from another perspective. You can see the west hillside of Mt. Fuji, called ‘Osawa Kuzure’ (great collapse valley). |
4 | Visit Hitoana Fuji-ko ruins and two waterfalls —Shiraito Falls and Otodome Falls designated as a part of UNESCO World Heritage |
5 | 17:00 The tour ends at Fujinomiya Station of JR Minobu line, or Shin Fuji Station (Tokaido Shinkansen) or any hotel in Fuji and Fujinomiya city area |
