Description
Overview
To help people discover the charms of cycling around Lake Hamana, the Bentenjima Cycle Gate, a bicycle rental base, has opened in Bentenjima Seaside Park, a three-minute walk from Bentenjima Station on the JR Tokaido Line.
Bentenjima Station, the starting point for Lake Hamana cycling, is easily accessible. Take the Tokaido Shinkansen for about an hour and a half from Tokyo or Osaka, then transfer to a local train, and you’ll arrive at a few stops.
For beginner cyclists, a one-way course of about 12km has been set up from Bentenjima to Kanzanji Onsen (Hot Spring). There are almost no ups and downs, and there are bicycle-only paths, so it’s very easy to ride without getting lost.
