[IE-1]Leisurely tour to enjoy flowers and views – Mt. Komuro
Address: 川奈, Shizuoka Prefecture, Chubu Region Ito 414-0044
Description
Overview
Mt. Komuro was created by an eruption 15,000 years ago and is only 321 meters high. Although it is a low mountain, the amount of lava flowed over 500 million tons, forming a vast lava plateau. The summit offers a 360-degree view of the Izu Islands, including Izu Oshima floating in the sea, the distant peninsulas, and the Amagi mountain range, the largest in the Izu Peninsula, spread out before your eyes. And the park below boasts 100,000 azaleas in spring and 4,000 camellias in winter. This geo-site is a must- see one for anyone interested in plants.
