Overview
The Izu Peninsula’s natural beauty and unique geology earned it a designation as a UNESCO Geopark. The Jogasaki Coast is a perfect introduction to Izu. Inside the Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, the Jogasaki Coast is one of the most famous sightseeing spots in Japan.
On this 2-1/2 hour walking tour, you’ll see amazing coastal rock formations and incredible views of the Sagami Bay, including many of the Izu islands. You’ll discover local folklore, plants and wildlife that few people see without a guide. You’ll learn why Izu is one of the most historical places in Japan with important connections to the first and last Japanese shogun and the beginning of US-Japan relations.
An easy side trip between Tokyo and Kyoto, it’s also an easy day trip from Tokyo. Better yet, stay a day or two, enjoy Izu’s delcious food and some of the best hot springs in Japan.
