Overview
Based on Yasushi Inoue’s “Shirobanba,” which depicts his childhood, we will tour the places that appear in his work. At Yasushi’s mother’s parents’ house, the “upper house,” you will be entertained with drinks and stories by local storytellers. Through talking with the locals, you will surely be able to vividly imagine the life of the boy and the old lady of “Shirobanba” and their relationship with surrounding people! In addition, we will visit places related to Yasunari Kawabata and Motojiro Kajii, who loved Yugashima Onsen, and think about why Yugashima Onsen was loved by literary giants. In Sekokyo Gorge, you will be fascinated by the ethereal beauty created by the rocky cliffs carved by 10 million years and the crystal-clear water flow of the Nekko River!

| 11:30 | Have lunch at a park and walk to Kodoji Temple, Amagi Shrine, Yumotkan, where Yasunari Kawabata wrote “Izu Dancer”, etc. |
