Mt. Fuji climb may seem to be easy but it is NOT!— because of great elevation gain, rapidly changing weather, steep incline, long switchbacks, many climbers give up the attempt by suffering from the altitude sickness.
As local experts, we offer you the safest and the most enjoyable climb of Mt. Fuji.
There are four trails to climb Mt. Fuji to the top—Yoshida trail, Subashiri trail, Gotemba trail and Fujinomiya trail.
We take the route called PRINCE ROUTE, which combines Fujinomiya route with Gotemba route, named after the Crown Prince who has now become a new Japanese emperor hiked in 2008.
FUIJNOMIYA TRAIL 5th station is where you start climbing. It’s steeper and rockier, but locates higher than other trails (at 2,400 meters, or 7,874 feet above sea level) and the most direct way to the summit. You’ll reach to the summit around 5 o’clock and be able to view the beautiful sunset from there if the weather permits. You’ll spend the night at the mountain hut locates on the top of Mt. Fuji.
After viewing the sunrise and hike around the crater, you’ll go down from GOTEMBA TRAIL ,which is less crowded than other trails, as enjoying the magnificent views of Izu Peninsula, the cities below and Pacific Ocean.
After passing the 6th station, you’ll take the path toward Mt. Hoei—a Mt. Fuji’s newest volcanic crater, then return to Fujinomiya trail 5th station, where your driver awaits.
On your way back to the station, you’ll visit Fujinomiya city. After eating lunch, you’ll visit Fujisan Hongu Sengentaisha Shrine just like the pilgrims used to visit there after the climb to give thanks for the safe journey. (The pilgrims would also visit the shrine before the climb to pray and purify themselves in water of the shrine)
