11:06 | Arrive at Kakegawa station (depart from Tokyo at 9:27, Nagoya at 10:06) |
11:15-11:30 | Meet your guide in front of the south exit at Kakegawa Station. Have a welcome green tea at the Kakegawa tourist office. |
11:40-12:30 | Green tea tempura and shirimp tempura don lunch. |
12:40-13:00 | Stroll around town which used to be a castle town and stop by a Japanese sweets shop. |
13:10-14:00 | Visit *Kudzu cloth atelier. *Kudzu cloth is one of the most famous Japanese cloth inherited from old times. Kudzu is a kind of plant grown in river banks and also used for herbal medicine and sweets |
14:10-16:10 | Visit ‘Matsushita organic green tea factory founded in 1915 and have some tea tasting. |
16:20 | Arrive at Tabinoya guest house and rest. You can walk to Nissaka Tokaido post town and ring a bell at a temple. |
You can cook dinner such as grated yam soup with the owner of Tabinoya which is served with other seasonal local dishes. Enjoy goemonburo, a bath shaped like cauldrons, with smells of Japanese cypress. |

8:30 | Leave Tabinoya for Green tea terrace and green tea road |
8:40-9:00 | Taste deep-roasted green tea at Higashiyama rest station. |
9:15-10:00 | Beautiful views of Mt. Fuji, Suruga Bay, and sacred megaliths in the primeval forest at the top of Mt. Awagatake. |
10:15-11:15 | Meet local green tea farmers and try tea picking, walking in green tea fields at one of Japan’s leading green tea production areas where tea plantations are grown by the traditional tea-grass integrated system designated as a “Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System” |
11:35-12:30 | Lunch at local Kaiten-Sushi restaurant where serves dishes on a revolving counter. As the food revolves around, you pick the dishes you want. |
12:40-14:30 | Kakegawa castle stroll with a Ninja guide, enjoy tea ceremony and palace. |
15:00 | Walking back to Kakegawa station, enjoy shopping on the way. Arrive at Kakegawa station around |
