One of the most fun parts of traveling is trying local food. Shizuoka is blessed with diverse nature, and produces a wide range of high-quality food products. The region enjoys a variety of agriculture from around Mt. Fuji, and an array of seafood from Suruga Bay (Japan’s deepest).
In order for visitors to enjoy the food that Shizuoka takes pride in, we held a contest to decide which new dishes would be most likely to make travelers smile. We discovered some great dishes that use local ingredients. Here are the top-five awarded dishes and the top-five staff picked dishes which were selected from 77 applications!
Please enjoy these local dishes that are worth devouring!
